Two major Pakistan political parties, PPP and PML-N, have reached a formal agreement to form a coalition government following inconclusive elections. The alliance, led by Bhutto Zardari and Nawaz Sharif’s parties, aims to establish stability amid an economic crisis and rising militant violence. Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari will be the coalition’s candidates for prime minister and president respectively. The parties, along with smaller factions, hold a comfortable majority in the legislature.
