A Delhi court has taken cognisance of a charge sheet filed against NewsClick founder and Editor-in-Chief Prabir Purkayastha under anti-terror law UAPA in a case based on allegations that the news portal received money to spread pro-China propaganda. The court has fixed May 31 for arguments on framing of charges.

The Delhi High Court is examining the order that remands Newsclick founder Prabir Purkayastha and HR Head Amit Chakravarty in police custody in a case lodged under UAPA. The court has expressed that there appears to be something missing as the order was passed without hearing their counsel.
