Following the event of Queen Elizabeth passing away, her body was being “rested” in Scotland’s St. Guiles Cathedral, after being traditionally carried into the collected crowd. On Tuesday, the late Queen’s body finally arrived to England in a coffin, which will be displayed in Buckingham Palace, in the midst of devastated public. It shall then be moved to Westminster Hall, where the state funeral will be held next week. Meanwhile, King Charles III has concluded his visits to the four nations of UK, prior to the funeral’s commencement.
“In Loving Memory of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022” is what the Archewell Foundation website of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reads on a black background. Queen Elizabeth II peacefully died on 8th September, directly making her son Charles III the new King, who expressed the “greatest sadness” in a statement for the same, saying her loss will be felt “throughout the country”. The website has been disabled as of now in honor of the late queen.
As the new Prime Minister Liz Truss takes over her duties and power on Tuesday, handed over in ceremony by Queen Elizabeth, the latter takes on rest from her Wednesday Privy Council meeting due to doctors’ advice. The council, which was scheduled virtually from the royalty’s summer house in Scotland, would have held senior government advisors, following the titling of Truss as First Lord of the Treasury. As the Queen doesn’t require hospitalization, the meeting will be rescheduled.
