Tory MP Bob Stewart has been found guilty of a racially aggravated public order offence after telling an activist to ‘go back to Bahrain’ during a confrontation. The veteran MP, who had vehemently denied any racist intent, was fined £600 and instructed to pay an additional £835 in legal costs. Pressure is now mounting on Chancellor Rishi Sunak to strip Stewart of the Conservative Party whip. The activist, Sayed Ahmed Alwadaei, has called for immediate action from the Conservative Party in light of the verdict.

In a video gone viral on Twitter, a Mexican-American (the accused identified herself as) woman named Esmerelda Upton is seen throwing aggressive racial slurs on four Indian-American women, while exiting from a restaurant in a parking lot at night. The woman is periodically walking towards and away from the unengaging women, abusing them and aggressively trying to hit them, meanwhile knocking their phones off. The woman has been taken into custody and is being investigated upon.
