The Kerala High Court has allowed the mother of J.S. Sidharthan, a deceased student, to be impleaded in the bail petitions of the nine students arrested for his alleged ragging and assault. She claims that the CBI preliminary chargesheet indicates the active involvement of all the accused in her son’s assault and lynching. She argues that their release on bail could interfere with the investigation and intimidate witnesses. The court has scheduled the bail petition for hearing on May 22.
