Optiemus Infracom, the domestic wearables and telecom equipment manufacturer, has invested Rs 25 crore to establish Optiemus Unmanned Systems (OUS) for research and development in high-precision drones. The company plans to manufacture drone designs for various sectors, including defense, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, mining, railways, and oil and gas. With a focus on data security and localisation, Optiemus aims to achieve 65% indigenisation within a year of launch. This move supports the Indian government’s objective of promoting end-to-end local production in the drone sector.
