Health officials from BBMP in Bengaluru have started a crackdown on rooftop pubs, bars, and restaurants. The government has instructed the civic body to identify and close down illegal establishments operating on rooftops. The Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department has initiated a safety audit for buildings with rooftop restaurants and pubs in the city. The BBMP has issued trade licenses to 1,118 establishments and has already closed down 12 for violations.
