The Public Works Department in Tamil Nadu has submitted a project to renovate ancient buildings in a derelict state. The Building Centre and Conservation Division plans to start six works worth nearly ₹67 crore within two months of receiving government approval.

The state government of Chennai has announced a ₹4,227 crore project to restore the Adyar river. The project includes the construction of sewage treatment plants and riverside parks as part of efforts to improve water quality and level. A Mumbai-based company, Khilari Infrastructure Private Limited, along with Chennai-based P&C Projects Private Limited, has been appointed to restore, maintain, and manage the river for a period of 30 years. The project is scheduled to be completed in 30 months.
