Over-the-top audio and video services emerged as the most popular internet use case in India in 2023, with 86% of India’s over 800 million internet users or 707 million people reporting using the internet for consuming them, according to a new report.
India has achieved the top position in terms of a unique identity programme as 1.3 billion people in the country have enrolled under Aadhaar, according to a recent report by TransUnion CIBIL. This milestone positions India as a global leader in the field of identity management. The report also highlights the increasing internet penetration in rural areas, projecting that 56% of new internet users in India by 2025 will come from rural regions.
