A ban has been imposed on the use, sale, and flying of sky lanterns, as well as the sale, possession, and display of firecrackers without the appropriate license. Violators may face imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of up to Rs 1,000, or both. Similar restrictions were enforced last year, demonstrating the authorities’ commitment to public safety during Diwali.
