UGC’s Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar cleared out all doubts against newly introduced position of ‘Professor of Practice’ (PoP), who is an individual holding expertise in non-academic backgrounds. Educational qualifications in academics will not be necessary for such a position as their experience and knowledge of practical skills carry importance. This initiative is being carried on to lessen the space between academia and vocational skills.
