The BSF denies responsibility and claims it attempted to rescue the children. The incident has become political, with Trinamool Congress seeking a response from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar.

BJP does not believe in “family planning” in politics and always welcomes new allies, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He also affirmed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) will be implemented before the Lok Sabha polls. The Central government is set to present the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the lower house for consideration. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce both Bills.
