An NHAI engineer stationed in Shimla has filed a complaint alleging that he and another officer were assaulted by Himachal Pradesh's rural development and panchayati raj minister, Anirudh Singh. The incident reportedly occurred during a site inspection. The engineer, Achal Jindal, detailed in his police complaint that the assault took place while they were attending a meeting related to a building collapse incident. Despite informing the minister that the building was outside NHAI's jurisdiction, he claimed that Singh became verbally abusive and physically attacked them. Jindal stated that they were taken to a local room where the minister threw a pitcher of water at him, causing injuries and bleeding. The Central Engineering Services Officers’ Association and NHAI Engineers’ Association have called for urgent action and justice in response to the incident.
