Urban consumption faced a significant slowdown in the March quarter as high inflation forced consumers to reduce spending, according to NielsenIQ. Rural demand, however, remained robust, particularly for personal care items like lotions, shampoos, and detergents. The FMCG sector witnessed an 11% growth in value, with a 5.6% price increase driving the uptick. Unit growth reached 6%, signaling a trend towards smaller package sizes.
