RSS discusses role in crises, war-like drills during meeting in Delhi

July 6, 2025

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) initiated discussions on the pivotal role its cadre could play in war-like scenarios and civil defence exercises, such as Operation Sindoor, during its three-day all-India Prant Pracharak meeting in Delhi. The agenda also encompassed addressing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and Bengal, along with strategies to raise these issues with the government and other platforms. Reflecting on the history of assisting during crises, including the 1962 war, where swayamsevaks managed traffic in Delhi and provided relief at the request of Nehru, the gathering is also focusing on evaluating organisational advancements and finalising arrangements for the centenary year festivities starting from October 2. Approximately 233 functionaries, including the leaders of 32 affiliate bodies, are in attendance. Moreover, the RSS is planning to conduct social harmony gatherings and outreach campaigns, as highlighted by the publicity head Sunil Ambekar.
