India's External Affairs Minister Jaishankar Assures US of Measured Approach towards Pakistan

India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has affirmed to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that India's stance towards Pakistan remains measured and responsible amid escalating tensions. The US has urged both countries to find ways to de-escalate the situation. Rubio had also reached out to Pakistan's Army chief earlier, offering US assistance for constructive talks. This interaction came in the backdrop of increased hostilities between India and Pakistan, with Pakistan targeting civilian areas in India and engaging in cross-border shelling. The US, along with President Trump, has been advocating for de-escalation and peaceful resolution of conflicts between the two nations. India initiated Operation Sindoor in response to a terrorist attack by Pakistan-linked militants, targeting terror camps across the border.
