After being grounded in Thiruvananthapuram since June 14, the F-35B fighter jet of the Royal Air Force, U.K., finally took flight to Darwin, Australia on July 22, 2025. The aircraft underwent maintenance by an expert team after developing engineering issues during an emergency landing. The British authorities had to pay around ₹5 lakh as parking fees to the Thiruvananthapuram airport for the jet's stay. The advanced stealth fighter is known for its short take-off and vertical landing capability.
