How many videos have we seen on the internet where a monkey steals someone's phone or goggles? Or where people are feeding and worshipping cows? India is a country rich in history and culture. The lessons embedded in years of traditions are followed for posterity, and one of them includes not only co-existing with animals but also worshipping them as forms and creations of God. While this might be normal for an Indian who has grown up with the experience of being close to animals all around and even interacting with them, for people visiting the country for the first time, it seems this comes as a culture shock. In a video going viral on the internet, an American vlogger appeared to be visibly shocked after he was 'robbed' by a group of monkeys in India. The vlogger can be seen standing by his two-wheeler, saying, 'I got robbed in India, bro, they took my chocolate cake and oranges,' while simultaneously asking the monkeys around him to 'get back.' He also showed his carry bag, which was now torn and empty. Panning the camera to a monkey, he said, 'They took my oranges, man, look, he got my orange in his mouth.' 'I had a whole chocolate cake I was saving, all my oranges. Who would've thought, man,' he said as he resumed his journey ahead. In the caption, he also shared how he had been saving the food for that night's dinner and is now hungry. While the occurrence may have come as a surprise to the American vlogger, it was actually a normal event in India. Various places in the country are known for their regional monkeys who will steal not only food but also objects in sight. Netizens were having quite a field day watching the man get shocked and were quick to reply with hilarious comments. 'Sharing is caring bro 😂' and 'God's Lil creatures gotta eat too!' commented users on Instagram. One person who appeared to be the man's friend pointed out how they had warned him about the monkeys, writing, 'Told you to watch out for the 🐒 I had to deal with them today as well 🤣' Others added how it was a tax for riding through the forest, 'That forest tax bro, you in da hood, you need to pay up' and 'Chill bro, this is minor tax collection by the owners of the woods nearby. 😂😂' Many added how he would learn with time to never show food to monkeys in the mountains, forests and temples. Others shared how he was lucky they didn't take his phone or wallet. 'You're lucky they didn’t ask for your wallet 😂' and 'They didn't take ur phone?? Once they broke my car mirror' Many in the comments just shared humorous GIFs of monkeys wearing goggles, making an emoji heart for the man and strutting away in a suit and more. Pro tip for anyone visiting India: always hide your food near forests and temples, as monkeys will take a bite or the whole.
