As India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire understanding, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi contacted NSA Ajit Doval to emphasize the need for a lasting ceasefire. He condemned the recent terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed opposition to all forms of terrorism. Doval highlighted the significant casualties caused by the attack and emphasized the necessity for counter-terrorism measures. Wang Yi stated that war is not in India's interest and reiterated the commitment of both countries to a ceasefire, aiming to restore regional peace and stability. China, while maintaining its support for Pakistan, has also condemned the attack in Pahalgam. Wang Yi emphasized the importance of peace and stability in Asia and stressed the irreplaceable geographical proximity of India and Pakistan to China.
