SSC Postpones CGL 2025 Exam to September for Rigorous Platform Check after Tech Hiccups

SSC Postpones CGL 2025 Exam to September for Rigorous Platform Check after Tech Hiccups

August 9, 2025

Big news for all SSC aspirants! The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a delay for the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGL), 2025. Originally set for August 13, the exam will now kick off in the first week of September 2025. Why the sudden change? SSC wants to run a thorough, no-nonsense check of its exam platform and prepare better for a smooth exam experience. In an official notice, SSC said: "We are conducting a rigorous evaluation of the exam platform and operational readiness." The new schedule will be released soon on SSC’s website, so keep your eyes peeled! This move follows some fresh reforms introduced after a Supreme Court directive. SSC recently held the Selection Posts/Phase XIII Exams from July 24 to August 1, 2025, at 194 locations nationwide. For the first time, Aadhaar authentication was used for both candidates and exam staff to curb cheating and impersonation. Sounds strict, right? But, like all tech upgrades, there were bumps. SSC admitted: "During the conduct of the above examination, there were disruptions to certain candidates in taking the exam, owing to technical factors and operational reasons." Many affected candidates were rescheduled and given extra chances until August 1. Then, on August 2, SSC conducted three exam shifts for more such candidates, with about 8,000 appearing. Here comes the twist! After analyzing data logs from all shifts up to August 2, SSC found about 55,000 candidates whose exam data showed gaps. To be fair, SSC decided, "these candidates deserve the benefit of doubt" and they’ve been offered a fresh test opportunity on Friday, August 29, 2025. Want to update your details? Good news again! SSC said the One Time Registration (OTR) portal will reopen for edits from August 14 to August 31, 2025. So, if you need to correct any info before the next round of exams starting September 2025, now’s your moment. After August 31, no more edits will be allowed. To wrap it up: SSC’s pushing CGL 2025 to September, fixing tech issues, honoring fairness with re-tests, and giving you a limited window for important information edits. Candidates should keep checking the official SSC website for all updates and official news. So, gear up, stay alert, and be ready to rock the exam in September!
