New Delhi is buzzing with patriotic energy as Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat gave a fiery call on Monday: Let's celebrate the fourth edition of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign with full enthusiasm! But wait, the minister added an important note – the national flag's respect and sanctity must always be protected. During a lively press meet, Shekhawat was asked about past problems where the Tricolour's dignity was hurt during or after the campaign. He frankly admitted, "Some of the incidents happen where we see... But we try our best. Earlier also, we tried to educate people and give the message during the campaign that the respect and sanctity of the 'Tiranga' should be maintained." So, the government’s plan is clear – spread awareness to keep our flag proud and untarnished. Union Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal chimed in, saying that respecting the flag is a key part of the campaign. "Besides unfurling and hosting of them, we also educate people about maintaining the national flag code, as the honourable minister said the honour and sanctity of the national flag is to be maintained," he noted. This year, more than 5 lakh young volunteers have stepped up to inspire everyone to fly the Tiranga at homes, offices, markets, and shops. The ministry also encourages people to share their "selfies with Tiranga" to spread the festive spirit online. Talking about special visuals, Shekhawat revealed that from August 2 onwards, 140 monuments and sites are glowing in tricolour lights with exciting projection mapping. The Archaeological Survey of India shared gorgeous images of landmarks like the Konark Sun Temple, Chandragiri Fort, Gunavati Group of Temples, and Agra Fort dazzling under the tricolour. Adding a patriotic sparkle, a campaign video showcased heroes like IAF aircraft and brave officers Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, famous from Operation Sindoor—the swift military action in May responding to the Pahalgam terror attack. This operation, lasting four days, coolly ended with peaceful talks between India and Pakistan. The inspiring fervour continues with school children sending rakhis and letters to Army personnel, a touching salute to the soldiers involved in Operation Sindoor. Big events are planned: On August 12, a thrilling Tiranga Bike Rally will roar from Bharat Mandapam to the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The next day, get set for a fantastic Tiranga Concert featuring popular singer Shaan in Delhi. On August 14, solemn Partition Horrors Remembrance Day will be marked with exhibitions and silent marches in Delhi and Kolkata to honour our history. Other ministry officials, including Abhijit Sinha and Samir Kumar, also shared upcoming plans, making this year's Tiranga campaign a grand, colorful celebration steeped in respect and unity. So, dear readers, hoist your Tiranga proudly and join this vibrant wave of patriotism—but always remember Shekhawat’s words: the flag’s honour must shine as bright as its colours!
