KOLKATA: A dark night turned even darker in West Bengal’s Purulia district when a 25-year-old woman and two young girls, aged 7 and 14, were found lifeless on railway tracks late Sunday night. The railway police revealed that the woman was Kajal Machuar, a resident of Bagmundi in Purulia. The 14-year-old girl was her sister, while the youngest, just 7, was Kajal’s daughter. The bodies were discovered lying on the tracks between Torang and Suisa railway stations, close to the Bengal-Jharkhand border. This grim scene has shocked the locals. “We have registered a murder case… The bodies were sent for autopsy. We are waiting for the reports,” said a railway police officer, adding layers of mystery to this tragedy. Surprisingly, there were no signs of sexual assault on the victims, nor any indication that they were hit by a train. The officer confirmed, “There were no signs of any sexual assault. There were also no signs of the victims being hit by a train.” Now, the police are digging deep to uncover what really happened on those fatal tracks. This case is still unfolding, and every detail counts in bringing justice for Kajal and her young family members.
