In a thrilling Independence Day address, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced bold plans to boost youth employment across the state. He revealed that the preliminary exam fee for state government jobs will be slashed to just ₹100, while the main exam will be completely free! Imagine that, lakhs of youth now get a fair chance without worrying about heavy fees. Mr. Kumar said, “We have decided to charge only ₹100 as fee from the candidates appearing in the PT of the competitive exams be it Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC), Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission (BPSSC) and Central Constable Selection Board (CCSB) for state-level government jobs.” Adding more excitement, he stated, “Those who pass the preliminary exam won’t have to pay any fee for the main test.” This is a game changer for the youth eager to grab government jobs! The Chief Minister proudly shared, “The government is continuously working on employment and till date, about 10 lakh youth have been given government jobs. As far as employment is concerned, 39 lakh people have been given employment.” And hold your breath — he promised that before the next assembly elections, more than 50 lakh jobs and employment opportunities will be created! Looking even further, Nitish Kumar unveiled a dream goal of providing jobs to one crore youth in five years. But that’s not all – women’s empowerment took center stage too! The CM highlighted the 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj since 2006 and 35% reservation in police from 2013. “Now the number of women in Bihar Police is the highest in the country,” he bragged. From 2016, women also got 35% reservation in government jobs. He stressed that everyone benefits from his government — be it Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, backward classes, Dalits, or Mahadalits. Especially for Muslims, he said, "Madrasas have been given government recognition and their teachers are being given salaries equal to government teachers." On development, Mr. Kumar announced more good news: rising pensions under social security schemes, free electricity up to 125 units, and special help for new industries, including doubled subsidies and incentives for GST. Land will be made available in every district for industries, and those creating more jobs will get land for free within six months. Adding to healthcare hopes, the CM revealed plans to open new medical colleges and hospitals in seven districts — Kishanganj, Katihar, Rohtas, Sheohar, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, and Arwal. Finally, Nitish Kumar expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the central government’s decision to conduct a caste-based census, signaling a brighter future built on inclusion and progress.
