NHAI Unveils FASTag Annual Pass at Rs 3,000 for Smooth Toll Ride on National Highways

August 16, 2025

Get ready, highway heroes! The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is rolling out the FASTag Annual Pass from 15 August 2025, just in time for hassle-free rides on National Highways and Expressways. If you're tired of topping up your FASTag wallet every time you hit the toll plaza, this Rs 3,000 pass will be your new best friend for 2025–26. Here’s the exciting scoop: The pass lets private cars, jeeps, and vans zoom through up to 200 toll plazas without paying again, or for one full year from activation – whichever comes first. Imagine not worrying about toll payments while cruising along! But how do you get your hands on this golden ticket? Launch the Rajmarg Yatra app (available on Android and iOS) or visit NHAI’s official website. Log in using your mobile number or vehicle registration number (VRN), and make sure your FASTag is active and linked properly. Important heads-up: The pass is only for private/non-commercial vehicles, so commercial ones like taxis and buses can’t join this party! Next, enter your vehicle and FASTag details. You may need to upload documents – your vehicle RC, owner’s ID and address proof, and a passport-size photo. Double-check your info because any mistake can slow you down like traffic on a monsoon day. Pay the Rs 3,000 fee via UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking – but sorry, wallet balances can’t cover this amount. Once you pay and all checks out, within two hours (sometimes up to 24), your FASTag Annual Pass is activated. You’ll get an SMS confirmation, and a quick status check on the app or website will show it’s ready for action. What’s in it for you? Say goodbye to multiple transactions and wallet top-ups! Your pass guarantees: - Up to 200 smooth toll trips or an entire year of convenience. - Faster passage through toll plazas to speed up your journey. - Simplified payment—you pay once and forget the rest. - Cost savings for regular highway travelers thanks to fewer transaction fees. Remember, only one pass per vehicle and no transfer to other cars. If you cross the 200 trips, your FASTag switches back to regular payment mode so no worries there! Don’t have your VRN linked yet? Update it soon because FASTags with only chassis numbers cannot get the annual pass. Also, the pass doesn’t auto-renew—you’ll need to reapply each year. Get ready to make your road trips cleaner, quicker, and more fun starting 15 August 2025. As NHAI says, “The annual pass removes the hassle of topping up balances for frequent travellers while ensuring smooth and faster passage through toll plazas.” Who wouldn’t want that?
