India is buzzing with excitement as it marks its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025! To add extra sparkle, Google launched a dazzling special Doodle. This colorful artwork is made up of tiles showing India's incredible achievements. Created by artists Makarand Narkar and Sonal Vasave from Boomranng Studio, the tiles dazzle with famous art styles like Jaipur’s blue pottery and West Bengal’s terracotta relief work. But what’s on these tiles? Everything that makes India proud! From space exploration and brilliant chess players to thrilling cricket wins and big wins at international film festivals. Each tile stands for the spirit of "unity in diversity," showing how India’s many cultures come together with great success across different fields. The big day kicks off at the Red Fort in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi raises the national flag with pride before addressing the country. This tradition marks India’s journey from over 200 years of colonial rule to becoming the world’s largest democracy. Google perfectly sums it up: "The Indian Independence movement was led by prominent figures who championed civil disobedience and nonviolent protests. Their efforts culminated in the birth of the world’s largest democracy." Across the nation, the celebrations are bursting with color and joy. Homes, streets, and public squares shine with the Tricolour fluttering high. Cultural programs, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and lively community events fill the day. Schools and local groups perform skits and dances that tell stories of India’s brave past. And what’s a celebration without kite flying? The skies paint a vibrant picture, symbolizing the freedom India cherishes.
