On a vibrant Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a big shout-out to India’s women self-help groups (SHGs), calling their journey truly amazing. "Nobody paid attention to women self-help groups, but in the past 10 years, they have done wonders," Modi said, highlighting how these groups have moved from the sidelines to being powerhouses in entrepreneurship and exports. He proudly shared that the products made by these SHGs are no longer just local treasures; they have reached international markets, generating business worth "lakhs of crores." This means these women-led groups have become real engines of India's growth story! But Modi didn't stop there. He talked about breaking barriers and creating chances for talented locals, making India self-reliant and proud. Taking an example from his famous radio program Mann Ki Baat, he said, "I once spoke in Mann Ki Baat about toys...I had said, why should even toys come from abroad? And today, I proudly say that my country has started exporting toys." Now, Indian toys are traveling overseas, showing the world India’s skill and spirit. This Independence Day message was a big cheer for women entrepreneurs and local talents shaping India’s bright future. From quiet beginnings to roaring success, these self-help groups and local makers are writing a new chapter for India’s economy!
