Taylor Swift surprised everyone when she first came to watch Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs. On September 24, 2023, during the Chiefs vs. Bears game in Kansas City, she walked into Arrowhead Stadium like any other fan. Clark Hunt, the Chiefs’ owner, told this amazing story on “The Pat McAfee Show.” Clark Hunt said he had arranged special security for Taylor Swift, but she politely refused it. She said, “I just want to be a typical fan.” So, she walked in through the front door like everyone else! This simple, down-to-earth move amazed the stadium crowd. Clark Hunt still remembers that moment clearly. He said, "I think the most amazing thing about that first game, which caught us all by surprise, was the fact that she literally walked in the front door. We offered her some special security, and she said: 'No. I just want to be a typical fan.' I’m coming through the front door.” This moment has a special place in Hunt’s heart. Since then, security around her visits became tighter, but he never forgot how humble the global star was that day. The story doesn’t end there. Clark Hunt says Taylor Swift helped change the fan base of the Chiefs. Thanks to her, the number of female fans jumped from being equal to men, to 57% women, one of the highest in the NFL! Hunt calls this the “Taylor Swift effect.” He shared, "I have people come up to me all the time and tell me, 'Thank you.' I’m like, 'Thank you for what?' And then they tell me, 'Thank you because my 10-year-old daughter now insists on watching NFL football with me.' Of course, that’s largely because of Taylor Swift.” Looking ahead, Taylor Swift plans to support Travis Kelce even more. After finishing her mega-successful Eras Tour in December 2024, she won’t have a crazy schedule. A source told People magazine that she is excited for the 2025 NFL season and wants to attend as many games as possible. This means more football fun for Taylor and Travis! The slow pace means she can enjoy the games and the moments with Travis Kelce without rushing around the world.
