IMD Warns: Delhi to Drench with Rains All Week, More Wet Days Ahead for North India!

August 18, 2025

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has brought some rainy news! Delhi’s weather is set to take a wet turn from Monday and will stay unsettled all week until Saturday. Expect cloudy skies till Wednesday, with one or two rounds of light to moderate rain or thundershowers popping up in the afternoon or evening. This forecast follows a heavy rain splash on Sunday that drenched spots like Moti Bagh, Dwarka, Lajpat Nagar, RK Puram, Lodhi Road, and areas near the Delhi-Haryana border. But don’t worry—despite the pouring, official reports say no major waterlogging, traffic jams, or airport delays happened. Temperature-wise, Delhi remained comfortably warm with highs between 32°C and 34°C. The Met department also noted scattered rain spells across various neighborhoods during afternoons and evenings. However, recent weeks have seen frequent heavy rain bursts causing waterlogging and damage. Sadly, last Thursday, Sudhir Kumar, 50, died when a neem tree fell during a rainstorm near Paras Chowk in Kalkaji. His 22-year-old daughter Priya was injured but survived. Police confirmed the accident happened around 9:50 am, with rescue teams rushing to help immediately. And Delhi is not alone in facing wet days. The rainy phase will spread to northwest states including Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Heavy rain is forecast there too, so everyone should stay alert and prepared for those rainy moods!
