Kairan made history as the youngest graduate from Santa Clara University before landing his dream job at SpaceX’s Starlink division. There, he helped develop software guiding satellite beams that bring stable internet to millions around the world. But why leave such a cool gig for finance? He wanted a workplace where he could see the impact of his work in just days, not years. At SpaceX, Kairan protected the accuracy of Starlink satellites’ beams—a mission-critical responsibility. Now at Citadel, he’ll dive deep into global trading infrastructure, merging engineering brilliance with sharp quantitative problem-solving. This prodigy broke the education rules from the start. Skipping from third grade straight to college by 9, he even interned at Intel Labs at 10! Born in Pleasanton, California, Kairan’s parents come from the Muslim Quazi community of Manikganj, Bangladesh. His dad is a chemical engineer, while his mom is a Wall Street executive. Recognized for his incredible brain and emotional smarts by age two, Kairan joined Mensa International and the Davidson Institute’s Young Scholar programme early on. Now, with bigger dreams than ever, he is moving to Manhattan to live on his own—just a 10-minute walk from Citadel’s office. This means no more rides from his mom to SpaceX’s Redmond office!
