The Miami Dolphins are on the hunt for more firepower on their defense! Despite having strong edge defenders, they want to add a seasoned star—Matt Judon, the veteran linebacker who has dazzled NFL fans in the past. Judon, aged 33, hasn't had his best few years recently. In 2023, he struggled after a serious lower biceps injury in week 4. Though he bounced back, his numbers slipped, including just 1.5 sacks and 12 tackles in the first two weeks of 2024. Even at his lowest point in week 15, he played only 42% of defensive snaps. Because of this dip, the Atlanta Falcons decided not to sign him again. But hold on! 2025 might be Judon's comeback year. The Dolphins clearly believe in his talent. NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared, "Sources: The #Dolphins will host 4x Pro Bowl OLB Matthew Judon on a visit tomorrow. Miami has been exploring pass-rush options, and Judon — who had 5.5 sacks last season in Atlanta — brings 72 career sacks to the table." Schultz also added that "both parties are motivated to reach a deal." Judon’s recent stats may not scream star, but his past says otherwise. With the New England Patriots, he earned two Pro Bowl nods and was ninth in NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2022. He can still be a valuable depth player for a Super Bowl-chasing team. Speaking of the Patriots, fans wonder: will Matt Judon return to New England? The linebacker himself has been sharing throwbacks to his glory days with the Patriots on social media. His IG caption shows a heart longing for those "red sleeves" again. During his first year with the Pats, Judon racked up 60 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. In 2022, he smashed his record with 15.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Does Judon want to wear Patriots colors again? It’s not clear, but his nostalgic posts make fans dream. However, reality might make a Patriots comeback unlikely. Meanwhile, all eyes are on Miami as Judon visits their camp, hoping to kickstart a blazing new chapter in his NFL journey!
