Varanasi Court Orders Fraud Case Against Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh Over Film Investment Scam

August 20, 2025

A thrilling twist has struck the Bhojpuri film world! A Varanasi court has now ordered police to register a fraud case against popular Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh and three others. This follows a bold complaint filed by local businessman Vishal Singh. On August 13, 2025, the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-II took this sharp step after hearing Vishal's application. So, what happened? Vishal Singh claimed he was tricked into investing money in the 2018 Bhojpuri film "Boss." The story begins in 2017 when Vishal met Mumbai-based director Prem Shankar Rai, who then introduced him to many people linked to the film. Vishal was promised huge profits and even got to meet Pawan Singh himself to convince him about investing. With stars in his eyes, Vishal put in about ₹32.60 lakh from his own and his brother's company into various accounts. The excitement soared when, in July 2018, Vishal was declared a producer of "Boss" and was assured he would get 50% of the profits! But the saga didn’t end there – he invested an additional ₹1.25 crore later on. But hold your breath! After the film was released, Vishal did not get his promised share. The businessman alleges that when he pressed for his money, none other than Pawan Singh threatened to kill him! Shock and horror in Bhojpuri land! Vishal first reached out to the Cantonment police station and the police commissioner, but no action followed. Frustrated, he went to court. The judge listened closely and then ordered the police to file an FIR against Pawan Singh and three others for fraud. This case is now buzzing all over, showing that even shining stars can be caught in dark clouds. Will justice shine bright? Only time will tell!
