Vinayak Samant appointed as Bihar head coach for next season

Former Mumbai coach Vinayak Samant has been appointed as the head coach of Bihar for the upcoming domestic season. Samant, who was Mumbai's head coach for two seasons, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is known for his coaching success with the Mumbai Under-23 team and his current role as the batting coach of Belgium. Samant expressed his excitement about joining Bihar and working with the talented players to elevate the standard of cricket in the region. One of his key focuses will be on nurturing young talents like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who displayed exceptional skills in the IPL by smashing a 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals. Samant commended Suryavanshi's talent and expressed his intention to guide the young cricketer in improving his red-ball game for future success in tournaments like the Ranji Trophy. His appointment was made by former Mumbai cricketer and selector Anand Yalvigi, who highlighted Samant's vast experience in cricket and coaching as valuable assets for Bihar cricket's development. Samant is set to embark on his first trip to Patna later this month in preparation for Bihar's inaugural T20 league. The president of the Bihar Cricket Association, Rakesh Tiwary, expressed his confidence in Samant's ability to contribute to the changing face of Bihar cricket and praised the association's efforts to bring in top coaches and selectors to support the emerging talent in the region.
