The Srikakulam district administration, led by Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar, is prioritizing tourism development by focusing on the district's beaches. Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar has instructed the Tourism Officer to prepare a project report for enhancing the existing beaches. Specifically, he highlighted the potential of developing the historic Kalingapatnam beach under the Swadeshi Darshan scheme, with government funds set aside for the project. The collector emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs' involvement in beach development, promoting activities like water sports to attract more visitors. The administration is committed to expediting the processing of applications from interested parties. Additionally, eco-friendly tourism initiatives are planned for forest areas, pending approval from the Forest Department authorities.
