Big news from Reliance Infrastructure! They are selling their Pune Satara Toll Road (PSTR) project to Cube Highways and Infrastructure III Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based firm. Cube Highways will acquire 100% stake in the company that runs this important highway. The deal value? A cool ₹2,000 crore. A Reliance Infrastructure official said, “The transaction represents a significant milestone in Reliance Infrastructure’s ongoing strategy to monetise non-core assets, enhance financial flexibility and focus on long-term value creation.” From this deal, Reliance Infrastructure expects to get ₹600 crore in equity cash. They plan to use this money to grow their main businesses. This smart move will also slash Reliance Infrastructure’s overall debt by ₹1,400 crore. Less debt means a stronger balance sheet and a brighter future for the company. The Pune Satara Toll Road is no ordinary highway. It’s a 140-kilometer, six-lane expressway along the famous National Highway NH-48. Built on the Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) model, it started collecting tolls in October 2010. It’s a key part of India’s Golden Quadrilateral, connecting Mumbai and Bengaluru, two of India’s biggest cities. This deal is the second toll road sale between Reliance Infrastructure and Cube Highways. Earlier, in 2020, Reliance sold its Delhi-Agra Toll Road to Cube Highways for ₹3,600 crore. This shows a growing and strong partnership between the two giants in infrastructure. Right now, Reliance Infrastructure runs seven toll road projects covering about 2,468 lane kilometres across busy highways in India. With this new sale, Reliance is sharpening its focus and cleaning up its balance sheet to prepare for exciting growth ahead. The transaction is expected to wrap up by the end of this month, once all necessary government approvals are in place.
