The Ministry of Finance revealed in an Office Memorandum dated August 22, 2025, "In view of the 'Ganapati' festival, the Government has decided that the salary of all Central Government employees in the State of Maharashtra for the month of August 2025 may be drawn and disbursed by the Central Government offices (including Defence, Posts & Telecommunications) on August 26, 2025 (Tuesday)." That means central govt employees in Maharashtra will get their August salaries one day before Ganesh Chaturthi, which falls on August 27, 2025. It's like an early Ganesh gift! Kerala workers won’t be left behind. Their salaries will arrive ahead of Onam, too! According to an Office Memorandum dated August 21, 2025, from the Ministry of Finance, "In view of the 'ONAM' festival, the Government has decided that the salary/wages/pension of all Central Government employees in the State of Kerala may be drawn and disbursed by the Central Government offices (including Defence, Posts & Telecommunications) on 25-08-2025 (Monday)." This means Kerala’s central government employees will get paid on August 25, giving them plenty of time to enjoy Onam, celebrated on September 4 and 5 in 2025. But wait, there’s more spicy info! The circular also includes industrial employees serving under the central government in Kerala—they’ll see their wages early too. However, these payments are called "advance payments," meaning the government will adjust the exact salary or pension amount later. "The adjustment, if any, will be made without exception from the salary/wages/pension of the month of August/September 2025," clarifies the Ministry of Finance. To make sure everyone gets the message, the ministry has asked the Reserve Bank of India to notify all bank branches in Maharashtra and Kerala. So, no bank confusion here—just smooth, early festive pay!
