NTA Likely to Postpone CUET-UG 2025 Exam Due to Technical Glitches in J&K and Delhi

May 16, 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is considering postponing the CUET-UG 2025 examination after technical failures disrupted exams for over 350 students in J&K and Delhi. The repeated disruptions have raised questions about the preparedness of the infrastructure supporting the national-level test. In J&K, logistical failures worsened the situation, leading to exams being canceled at the Kite Polytechnic center in Srinagar. The delays and cancellations have left students and their families frustrated. Meghalaya also expressed concerns over the allocation of exam centers, criticizing NTA for not communicating in advance about the shortage of centers within the state. This resulted in many students being assigned centers outside Meghalaya, causing financial and logistical stress. The state government has urged NTA to defer the exams until additional centers are made available. Students in J&K faced challenges such as fleeing due to the conflict with Pakistan and being assigned centers far from their homes. Delhi students also encountered obstacles like prolonged delays, power outages, and mismanagement at exam centers. The experiences shared by students highlight the need for better planning and infrastructure to prevent such mismanagement during exams.
