Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lit up the India-Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo with exciting news about India’s economic boom! He shared eye-catching stats from JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation), revealing that 80% of Japanese companies want to expand business in India, and 75% are already making profits there! Today, India has political and economic stability. There is transparency and predictability in policy. India is the fastest-growing major economy and will soon become the world's third-largest economy.” With strong banks, low inflation, and a whopping $700 billion in foreign exchange reserves, India is truly a shining star! Modi explained it with his catchy phrase: “reform, perform and transform.” Key moves like the introduction of GST (Goods and Services Tax) and making business approvals easier with single-window systems have turned India into a business-friendly land. Modi also praised the unbreakable bond between India and Japan. He said, “Japan has always been an important partner in India's journey of development. From Metro to Manufacturing, semiconductor to start-ups, our partnership has been a symbol of trust.” Japanese firms have pumped over $40 billion into India, with $13 billion private investments coming just in the last two years! This visit to Tokyo marks Modi’s first solo trip to Japan in nearly seven years. During the two-day trip, Modi will attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit, held at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. Talks between the two leaders will cover multiple topics, including regional and global issues, aiming to deepen the Special Strategic and Global Partnership. After Japan, Modi will fly to China from August 31 to September 1 for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, continuing his busy diplomatic journey.
