Joining the growing trend of Indian organizations disengaging from Türkiye, IIT Roorkee has terminated a research collaboration with Inonu University. This decision comes amidst escalating tensions between India and Türkiye, with concerns over national security being a key factor. Other Indian entities, such as Jawaharlal Nehru University and Adani Airport, have also taken similar steps recently. The cancellations highlight the impact of diplomatic sensitivities on international partnerships and collaborations. Inonu University, located in Malatya, Türkiye, had partnered with JNU to promote cross-cultural research and student exchanges. Following the revocation of security clearance for Turkish firm Celebi by India's aviation regulator, Adani Airport ended its ground handling agreement with the company at Mumbai and Ahmedabad airports. Additionally, tour operators have witnessed a surge in holiday cancellations to Türkiye and Azerbaijan, reflecting a broader trend of disengagement from Turkish entities. MakeMyTrip and EaseMyTrip reported significant spikes in cancellations to these destinations. These developments underscore the evolving geopolitical dynamics influencing business relationships in the region.
