Since forever, the Himalayan ranges have been loved for their calm beauty — the soft sounds of wind, rivers, and wildlife, the peace and spiritual vibes they bring. But today, that peaceful image is fading fast. What is happening is scary! So, who is to blame for this mess? The easy answer is the government and big companies. True, they cut mountains, dig tunnels through ridges, and build huge modern structures on peaks. But guess what? People’s own demand pushes this too! Many have built on hillsides to earn money from tourists rushing to the mountains. Remember, every Himalayan peak shines like a royal crown. But when their natural beauty and power are challenged, the mountains react fiercely. Have you ever seen in the flat plains what happens in the hills during a cloudburst? Raging rivers, sudden flash floods, landslides, falling rocks, and crashing huge boulders all happen at once in the mountains. The hills aren’t wide open spaces — they live close, like a family in one corner of the land. Another way to see all this destruction is as a divine punishment. Maybe the mountains are upset because we are hurting them. Every monsoon season, they send strong signals of distress. The big question is: will we finally hear their cry or keep turning a deaf ear?
