Get ready for some relief, commercial LPG users! Oil marketing companies have decided to cut the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by a whopping Rs 51.50. Starting from September 1, this price drop will bring a smile to business owners and commercial consumers all over India. Let's talk numbers: In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be Rs 1,580. But don’t get too excited if you use a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder – its price remains the same. This isn’t the first time prices have fallen recently. Just last month, on August 1, prices were reduced by Rs 33.50. Before that, on July 1, a bigger cut of Rs 58.50 happened. The price has been falling steadily since June when the cylinder cost Rs 1,723.50 after a Rs 24 reduction. A bit of price rollercoaster happened in February and March too – February saw a small Rs 7 cut, but March saw a Rs 6 increase. However, the big picture shows a downward trend in commercial LPG prices, which is a big relief for many. Why does this matter? Well, about 90% of LPG in India is used for cooking in homes, while the remaining 10% is shared by commercial, industrial, and automotive sectors. Usually, domestic LPG prices stay steady even when commercial LPG prices jump or dip. To put things in perspective, India has seen a dramatic rise in domestic LPG users, with connections doubling to around 33 crore by April 2025. This huge number shows how cooking gas has become a vital part of daily life in the country. So, while your cooking gas prices at home may not budge, businesses using commercial LPG will cheer this new price slash. Lighter bills mean easier budgets and maybe even some extra savings on the table!
