Nik Bonitto is now locked in with the Denver Broncos for years to come! The 25-year-old powerhouse linebacker signed a jaw-dropping four-year extension worth up to $120 million, with $70 million guaranteed. This big news came on Thursday, September 4, 2025, and was confirmed by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bonitto’s agency made it clear they wouldn’t have agreed to this deal if Bonitto didn’t have an outstanding reputation. Originally, Bonitto was going into the final year of his rookie contract. But now, thanks to this deal, he'll stay with the Broncos all the way through 2029. With an average of $26.5 million per season guaranteed, he ranks among the top 10 highest-paid edge rushers in the whole NFL! What made Bonitto's wallet so heavy? His breakout 2024 season! Last year, he finally became a full-time starter and showed why he's a star. He racked up 13.5 sacks and 48 tackles. Not to mention, he made a spectacular 71-yard pick-six against the Indianapolis Colts that left fans cheering. That kind of performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl and a Second-Team All-Pro selection in 2024. Bonitto was picked by the Broncos in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft from Oklahoma. In just three seasons, he has already recorded a total of 23 sacks and 92 tackles in 47 games, proving his talent and dedication. After sealing the deal, Broncos General Manager George Paton said, “We were not going to let a player like Nik get away.” This shows how crucial Bonitto is to Denver’s future plans. The Broncos are building a defense fortress, and Bonitto is at its heart. Alongside teammates Patrick Surtain II, Jonathon Cooper, and Zach Allen, who also have extensions, the Broncos boast one of the best pass-rush groups in the NFL. Defensive back Patrick Surtain II praised Bonitto’s spirit, saying, “He pushes everyone to be better every day.” With his new mega contract, Bonitto is ready to hit the field for the 2025 season opener against the Tennessee Titans in Denver. Fans can’t wait to see him lead a defense that ranked third in the NFL for points allowed last season. Nik Bonitto isn’t just staying with the Broncos—he is becoming their defensive kingpin!
