In a dramatic turn of events, South Korea has just ended talks with the United States to free the Korean workers detained in Georgia! Kang Hun-sik, Presidential Chief of Staff, announced on Sunday in a live TV statement that a plane will soon take these workers back to Korea once all paperwork is done. This whole saga started when U.S. federal agents raided a Hyundai Motor factory in Georgia, making it the biggest single-site enforcement action in the history of the Department of Homeland Security's investigations! Hundreds were detained, and most of them were Korean nationals. But it’s not just bad news—South Korea recently struck a massive trade deal with the US, involving a $350 billion fund to help Korean companies enter the American market. This shows things are heating up in business ties! Adding more spice, CNN reported that President Donald Trump might visit South Korea in October for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation event, according to top officials in his administration. To make sure this type of worker detention doesn’t happen again, the South Korean official promised, "the government will seek ways to improve the visa system of Korean workers traveling to the U.S. to prevent a similar incident." So, after a tough week, South Korea and the US are moving towards smoother relations, with workers heading home and plans in place to keep the partnership strong and safe!
