IMD Extends Yellow Alert for Goa till May 20

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has prolonged the yellow alert for Goa until May 20, cautioning residents about thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds of 30-40 km/h in isolated areas. Moderate rainfall is expected across the state till May 22. Panaji recorded a maximum temperature of 35.8°C, 2.1°C above normal, while Mormugao saw a slightly lower 33.8°C. Humidity levels were high, with Panaji at 66% and Mormugao at 79%. Pre-monsoon showers hit parts of Goa, with Quepem receiving 35mm and Dharbandora 33.1 mm. The IMD forecast hints at favorable conditions for the southwest monsoon's advancement over certain regions in the coming days.
