Get ready for a colorful journey through Kerala’s urban success! On Thursday, Marine Drive in Kochi turned into a lively showcase for the state's spectacular progress in city development. This vibrant exhibition is part of the big Kerala Urban Conclave starting Friday, and it’s packed with exciting stories and ideas. Minister for Local Self Government M.B. Rajesh proudly opened the event, highlighting Kerala’s amazing achievements in urban planning, managing waste both solid and liquid, recycling magic, and making homes better. Joining him were Mayor M. Anilkumar and Greater Cochin Development Authority Chairman K. Chandran Pillai, adding to the big occasion. Right at the entrance, visitors can’t miss a stunning mother and child sculpture made entirely from plastic waste! This clever artwork had already won first prize during the Onam celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram. It’s a perfect symbol of Kerala turning trash into treasure. The exhibition walls and stalls tell many stories. Government heroes like Suchitwa Mission, Aardram Mission, LIFE Mission, and many more showcase their top work. Even the Spices Board and State Waste Management Cell join the parade, making sure every angle of urban life shines. Don’t miss the special stalls selling value-packed products made from waste, plus forest goodies from cooperative groups in Attappady and Vattalacki supported by the Scheduled Tribes Development department. Kerala’s six big city corporations and important municipalities display their own cool innovations in waste management and city planning. To make everything jump alive, LED screens flash bright videos, miniature models tell their urban tales, and interactive set-ups invite everyone to join the fun. Feeling hungry? A food court filled with tasty treats keeps visitors happy. This dazzling exhibition stays open until September 15. Come and see how Kerala’s cities are growing green, smart, and super stylish!
