Hold on to your seats! The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is cracking the whip on a massive online betting money laundering case. On Thursday, the ED summoned former Indian cricket star Yuvraj Singh and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood for tough questioning linked to illegal betting activities. Sources from PTI confirmed this drama. The dates are set—Yuvraj Singh will answer questions on September 23, and Sonu Sood will follow on the very next day, September 24. But that’s not all! Just a day before, another cricket hero, Robin Uthappa, was called for questioning on September 22. In the past few weeks, famous cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan have already been grilled by the agency. The core of this probe? Illegal betting apps that reportedly cheated investors and the public of huge amounts of money, running into crores. These apps also dodged big tax payments, and the ED is now digging deep to find out how money was moved and if any laws were broken under anti-money laundering rules. One big name in this web of betting apps is 1xBet, a well-known global bookmaker that has been around for over 18 years. This platform lets people bet on thousands of sports events, offering its services in 70 languages worldwide, according to their own claims. The ED wants to know whether money flowed through such apps to hide illegal earnings and whether taxes on winnings and business operations were paid properly. This investigation is like a thriller game, catching big names from cricket and Bollywood, exposing a dark side of online betting and dirty money flow. Stay tuned as the story unfolds and more stars face the ED’s spotlight!
