MUMBAI is buzzing with a fresh police inquiry into a retired cop named Deepak Shinde. What’s the drama? He's accused of not handing over crucial investigation files in a 2017 case against actor Kamaal R Khan. This case popped back into the spotlight during a heated hearing at the Bombay High Court. Why? Because Khan posted something spicy on social media about actor Dhanush — words some said hurt a woman's honor, plus an obscene image! Khan, standing his ground with lawyer Sana Raees Khan, slammed the FIR (First Information Report) as baseless. They argued, “The alleged post and even the account handle don’t exist.” Sana added a zingy point: the word “yukki” used in the post isn’t obscene at all and has no meaning in any language, so the serious Indian Penal Code section 509 about insulting a woman’s modesty shouldn’t apply. But hold on! There’s a twist. The police admitted during the court hearing that they just can’t find the investigation papers anywhere! Deputy Commissioner Dikshit Gedam was ordered by the court to clear this up. Gedam revealed that Deepak Shinde, who led the investigation back then, retired and left town without handing those files. Despite Bandra police’s many tries, the files are still MIA. On August 18, Mumbai Police decided to act. They sent a proposal for disciplinary action against Shinde and started a preliminary enquiry. But here’s the jaw-dropper: even with missing files, Mumbai Police still want the court to dismiss Khan’s plea to cancel the FIR! And there’s more drama. Gedam’s affidavit didn’t forget to mention that Khan has four other criminal cases between 2018 and 2021, with three charge sheets already filed, and one case still waiting for government approval. The courtroom saga continues — who will win this legal fight? Stay tuned!
