KOLHAPUR: The ever-fiery Sharad Pawar, chief of NCP(SP), opened his heart to journalists on Thursday, serving sizzling hot takes on PM Narendra Modi, age politics, and election trust! When asked about the tradition of leaders stepping down at 75, Pawar flashed a smile and said, "I myself didn't stop; I am now 85, and I have continued for the last 10 years." With that, he put to rest any debate on PM Modi's age and term. "I have no moral authority to ask him to step down now that he has turned 75," he said confidently. The political veteran took a jab at rumors surrounding RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat too. "Some people (Mohan Bhagwat) have clarified that he (or RSS) never said nor discussed this thing. Why should we insist on them? They say that they haven't said it, but we know you published it, we read it. It's okay now," Pawar said, telling everyone to cool down on old gossip. Sharad Pawar also fondly recalled his own 75th birthday bash where he invited none other than Narendra Modi. "He didn't say anything political; why should I make a political statement on his 75th birthday? Instead, I wished him well for whatever good he wants to do for the country," said Pawar, showing a rare moment of warmth in political chaos. Turning serious, Pawar slammed the Election Commission of India after Rahul Gandhi’s jaw-dropping press conference on voter name deletion. "The leader of opposition has clearly exposed the Election Commission of India. He exposed it. If ECI's decisions create doubts, then it is its responsibility to clear the doubts. If it continues to be untrustworthy, then I don't know for how long the country will keep quiet," he warned. Pawar didn’t stop there. "The people will take a call in elections. Also, you can see what is happening in neighboring countries," he added, hinting that the situation could get spicy if transparency isn’t restored. In short, Sharad Pawar’s words packed punch and promise, leaving political circles buzzing with fresh energy and fiery discussions!
