MANGALURU: The mystery around the alleged mass burial in Dharmasthala just got spicier! The Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the case has recovered at least seven skulls, mostly belonging to middle-aged men. Five skulls were dug out on Wednesday, and two more on Thursday, sources revealed. These skulls, found deep in the forest of Banglegudda in Dakshina Kannada district, are believed to be roughly a year old. Experts hope forensic tests will throw more light on this chilling discovery. One insider even hinted these could be connected to suicide cases, but the investigations are still ongoing. Who’s cracking the case? Personnel from the Anti-Naxal Force joined hands with police and forest officials, combing nearly 12 acres of dense forest to find clues in this eerie case. Adding to the drama, CN Chinnayya—the man who initially complained about the mass burial—is now behind bars. He was arrested for perjury and is currently in judicial custody. On Thursday, he was brought to a Belthangady court to record his statement. His next court appearance is set for September 23. Meanwhile, the Karnataka High Court is also stirring the pot! On Thursday, Justice M Nagaprasanna asked petitioners to share any independent evidence or information about the alleged burial of bodies in Dharmasthala. The court hearing has been pushed to September 26 to let more facts come out. Is the mystery deepening or unraveling? Only time and more digging—both literal and legal—will tell!
