Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Spurs Cleanliness Drive and Celebrates Hindi Pride with Passion

September 24, 2025

Delhi witnessed a burst of energy as Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took charge of a cleanliness drive at the bustling Ring Road on Tuesday. With a firm yet friendly tone, she urged citizens, “I request that at least do not paste posters with my photograph. No type of defacement will be tolerated.” Her message was clear — keep Delhi tidy and respect public spaces! This drive is part of the vibrant ‘Seva Pakhwada’, a 15-day social service celebration honoring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Ms. Gupta emphasized that cleanliness should not be a one-time effort but a daily habit involving everyone — from Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to public representatives and everyday citizens. Joining her were several ministers, all rolling up their sleeves along the famous Ring Road to make the city spotless. The atmosphere buzzed with teamwork and community spirit. But that was not all! Ms. Gupta also participated in the colourful ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ event at the Delhi Secretariat, organized by the Department of Art, Culture, and Languages. Speaking with pride, she declared, “Hindi is the language of our identity and pride. If Sanskrit is our root, then Hindi is the trunk from which other languages grow and flourish. Learning foreign languages is useful, but we should never feel hesitant about our own language. Just as no one can take the place of a mother, no other language can take the place of Hindi.” Her words ignited a loving spirit for Hindi, reminding everyone of its core value in our culture. The event celebrated Hindi's vital role and its enriching influence on many other languages. Rekha Gupta’s day was a powerful blend of promoting cleanliness and embracing cultural heritage. A call for a cleaner Delhi and a proud Hindi heart — could there be a better combo?
