Delhi is buzzing with fresh wheels and fresh hopes! On Tuesday, the city's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh unveiled a long-awaited inter-State bus service, connecting Delhi and Baraut in Uttar Pradesh. The service promises smooth rides with air-conditioned comfort on the 60-kilometer journey. Fares are pocket-friendly too, starting at just ₹32 and going up to ₹125. The bus will make important stops along the way including Khajuri Khas, Bhajan Pura, Loni border, Mandolla, Khekra, Katha, Baghpat, Goripur, Saroorpur, and Tyodhi. As Rekha Gupta shared at the launch, "When I became the Chief Minister, I would always wonder why Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh buses are plying in the city, but no DTC bus goes to other States. The previous governments had stopped the inter-State bus service. They did not do anything to ensure more revenue." This statement brings out how the new government is zooming ahead to fix old gaps. The inter-State DTC bus service had stopped running 15 years ago when diesel buses were replaced by CNG and when supportive infrastructure wasn't ready in neighboring states. Now, the wheels are turning again to bring back those lost connections. Ms. Gupta also told the team to keep adding new routes every month. So, Delhi commuters can look forward to more exciting bus routes soon. This move is a big win for daily travelers eager for comfortable, affordable, and efficient travel between states. Who doesn’t love a well-planned ride? This revamp is sure to give the city's transport scene a new, lively spin!
